| unused make up

Hey lovelies, tonight I want to show you some of my make up that often just sits in my box, unused and unloved. This is not to say I haven't loved some of these products in the past, simply I have found better replacements and I have stuck to these like glue.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Shade 001
You may have noticed I previously raved about this powder a few weeks ago having just purchased this, the proof is in the state of the powder this stuff runs out quickly! I also was very disappointed with its staying power on a night out, for the first time in forever my skin looked less than pristine and had given in to the heat of a sweaty club. From now on I shall continue to use it during the day since it does a great job of evening out my complexion on days when all I want to do is brighten my face a little without slathering on loads of products.

Garnier BB Miracle Skin Perfector in Light
I can't even remember when I bought this, perhaps a year and a half ago! This was the first BB cream I bought at the height of its craze, I really hate the consistency of the formula, it's much thicker than some of my heavy duty foundations! I have no complaints about the appearance of it once it's settled, however the staying power isn't that great either compared to my other preferences. It's not a bad product, I've simply found plenty of other products that do the job twice as well whilst staying on for much longer.

Natural Collection Liquid Eye Lines in Black
This was my first ever venture into liquid eye liner, and since I've never looked back. I have honestly no complaints about this product, it's so easy to use, the applicator isn't too bulky so it helps past beginners like myself to draw a neat, thinner line. It also lasts the whole of a night out, no smudges, it's pretty much perfect! The reason I never use it? I became obsessed with a Bourjois offering that is all of this product but better, I wanted a more refined eye liner look as I've become more at ease applying it. I want to use this a little more though on days when I don't want a look to be too over the top though.

Natural Collection LashLength Mascara in Black
I'm not completely sure why I never use this mascara, I tend to see Natural Collection Mascaras as great base layering products. I currently always use the WaterGuard offering as it's the most waterproof mascara I've ever used. It's much more smudgy as a day mascara so it's made me wary using it for day use, who wants to look like a panda? Not me, however it's good as a lengthener or if you just want to define your eyes subtly without going overboard.

Lord & Berry High Performance Mascara in Black
I've had this for a few months, and to be honest I don't know why I don't use it! It's a fairly standard mascara in my opinion, it lengthens to a certain extent, produces a reasonable fluttery effect and it's quite waterproof but it never has been advertised to that. I think it's because everything about the product is just so average, including the minimal but not attention grabbing packaging, it's literally that I've been forgetting to use it! I will try to use it much more often.

L'Oréal Studio Secrets Anti-Redness Primer
I have mentioned this amazing product a lot in recent posts, however the staying power just doesn't cut it for me on nights out. It does a perfect job at cancelling out the redness in my cheeks, and creating a nice smooth base. I just don't think it's good enough for longer than 4/5 hours use, as the effects start to fade. I will always continue to use this as day use, however I don't trust its staying power on nights out when a good primer is absolutely essential.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in Shade 03
When I first bought this lipstick I thought I'd found the perfect nude, and I used this for a while at work for a less done look. The formula is just so drying though, and as I frequently get very dry lips, the colour fades pretty quickly and clings to my chapped lips like nobody's business, not good! It's a gorgeous nude though, I feel it suits me well, if only to find a better replacement in the same shade.

and here is the end result!

 Thanks for reading! xx
