waiting game | my experiences in Paris

Sunday 26 January 2014

Hi lovelies! A slightly different post tonight, in which earlier I found myself catching up on a new favourite website of mine, Maptia, a site all about telling beautiful stories with just as beautiful pictures. An article that caught my eye, Urban Exploration displays various short summaries of people's experiences of urban cities, almost defining moments for them that really embody their experience of the city on a whole. I felt rather inspired by this idea, and tonight I want to reflect on the wonderful city of Paris. As I'm rolling on a French feel too, I'll translate my thoughts into French underneath.

These 4 photos are from my school trip in 2010. Despite the fact that I didn't know my way around my camera at the time, I'm quite shocked at the quality of these! I remember having such a good time with my friends on this trip; we went to Disneyland Paris, also I think these pictures capture the gloomy weather so well. It was so cold and windy, but I think this is a nice representation of another side of Paris, with the dark background only helping to make the monuments much more striking. The gorgeous picture of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night is an unforgettable moment for me - we had just cruised along the river Seine, impossible to miss.

These last few photos are from my most recent holiday, Paris with my best school friends. Our trip was so beautifully organised by Steph, who loved creating a busy but fun filled three days! As well as seeing the Eiffel Tower for the second time, we managed to see the Sacre Coeur, the Louvre museum and their beautiful gardens behind it and the Notre Dame Cathedral! The images of the Seine are still so breathtaking; the river was so blue, and glistening with the help of the sun. The massive difference between these two trips have show a fundamental development of my independence, my individual personality and furthermore the want to learn French at university level.

So here's my take on Paris! I was so fascinated by Maptia's idea to display lots of varying perspectives of large cities, I'm tempted to do another! Thanks for reading (:
