white teeth teens | my lipstick collection

Sunday 2 February 2014

Good evening my lovelies! Tonight I want to show my little collection of lipsticks. Obviously it's very compact, the reason being I only started getting into lipsticks last year in the summer. After being obsessed with lipgloss in the good old days of year 7 and 8, I think I was put off by lip products in general for a long time after that. As you can see I don't have any showstopping colours here yet, I prefer a red lip with my Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Stain as the colour's less in your face, and I really love bubblegum and pale pinks.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Luminous Cocoa
This is one of my most recent purchases, from Fragrance Direct in an attempt to expand my collection of nude everyday lipsticks. Alas I find this shade a little too shimmery, although the colour pay off is clearly good, on my lips it looks a little cheap, therefore I only wear this on days where I'm wearing very minimal makeup and want to perk up my face a bit.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in Shade 03
In contrast, I really love this nude lipstick. For me it's the perfect everyday, not too creamy nor too drying, and manages to strike just the right balance between concealer lips and a subtle pink. The lasting power is quite average, at about 2 hours tops, but it fades evenly making it easier to reapply. I find this lipstick natural enough to create the "my lips, just better" look, and I'm sure I will repurchase this when needed.

Rimmel Lasting Matte Finish Lipstick by Kate in Shade 101
As you can see I am quite the fan of Kate Moss's lipstick range, the shades are wearable, the prices are reasonable and the lasting power isn't bad! As the name would suggest, this lipstick is quite drying, however I prefer the matte look to a shiny finish, again due to the cheap feel glossy lipsticks tend to provide. I love the colour of this; a girly barbie pink without being too stand out, enough to brighten my whole face! I also love the packaging; the bright red casing means it pretty easy to find in my cluttered make up stash.

Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Crème Lipstick in Delightful
Another recent purchase from Fragrance Direct, I've grown to love this lipstick for nights out. For me the bright pink shade is a little bold for me during the day, however in clubs it's perfect. It's got good lasting power too, essential in sweaty clubs where the risk of all your make up running down your face is quite high. It's got a creamy finish to it so it does transfer easily with drinks etc, as one little bugbear. On the other hand I love the minimal and sleek packaging, it looks expensive for how much I paid (£1.99 bargain!!)..

Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in Rendez-Vous
This was my second venture into pretty, bubblegum colours, bought in France on holiday. I like this because the shade is noticeable without needing to tone down the rest of my makeup, a perfect complement to a smokey eye. The finish again is creamy, and I would say the lasting power of this is slightly better than the Rimmel Matte version, of which I think these are very similar. Obviously it would be quite difficult to repurchase this because sadly you can't order online in pounds! I will however look for a version close to this, because the colour is just so pretty!

Thanks for reading! Enjoy your evening xx
