On the 6th March, I was invited by the lovely Festival Place marketing team to a small bloggers meet-up in Giraffe, Basingtoke. I was met with a glass of wine (which is always welcome in my book) and some tasty Mexican nibbles. We had some time to mingle and chat before we were given a brilliant presentation from local personal stylist, Melissa Murrell. She gave us a body shape master class, showing us how to dress for our figures, according to five general body shapes; hourglass, rectangle, pear, apple and strawberry. The main aim she wanted to put across was creating balance, by wearing pieces to broaden the shoulders or elongating pieces to emulate the perfect hourglass shape. She was clever at putting pieces together from her rail that would help any body type to create a feminine look that makes the most of every figure.
She was a very personal and approachable woman, most bloggers ended up asking her questions during her presentation or at the end. She had no airs or graces, just came across as an intelligent and receptive lady who wanted to help her clients understand how to best dress for themselves. I found her talk incredibly interesting and she seemed genuinely excited to chat to us all about her personal styling business, and her enthusiasm in fashion.
The Festival Place marketing team organised an amazing event, we had plenty of time to chat amongst ourselves and get to know their team better, which should result in a well-connected Hampshire network! We also received some AMAZING goodie bags, from brands such as Costa Coffee, Hotel Chocolat, Lush, Rusk Hair and many more!
