The Rogues Café, Southampton

I absolutely love when restaurants go all-out for bloggers. The recently-opened Rogues Café in Southampton positively spoilt the Soton Bloggers, way back in June (oops!) and we had a wonderful evening with the owner, the staff and their adorable dog, Percy! We were able to try-out anything we wanted from the menu, after being shown some of their star dishes.

I'm so annoyed with some of the pictures, I just couldn't my camera to work very well in the light so apologies about the quality of the images!

Camera gripes aside, the interior of the café is so charming and colourful. It's unique as you enter at the top and descend a set of stairs to reach the bar! It reminded me of a trendy cafe in Shoreditch rather than the Guildhall Southampton!

We tried so many wonderful dishes, but one of my favourites had to be their take on the classic Egg McMuffin, a much bigger and aesthetically-pleasing portion of food than you'll find at McDonalds!

The melted cheese on the burger was heaven, and the beef was juicy and thick! For this reason this dish was a clear favourite with a lot of the bloggers.. (do behave!). We also had some yummy pancakes, perfect for brunch fans! Loaded with fresh fruit, cream and syrup, we were all practically salivating when this came out!

The lovely owner then let us pick whatever we'd like to try from the menu which took our fancy. I am a huge fan of French toast, so a few of us asked for this to try out! I was in maple syrup heaven, there was so much dribbling onto the plate and the toast was fried to perfection. Even the menu itself is super cute and quirky-looking!

It was a really relaxed evening with the other bloggers - we chatted, ate some fantastic food and the drinks were flowing! The staff and percy made us feel so at ease, I would really recommend popping in for a bite to eat here. It's in a central location, just past Southampton high street! They also do 2 for 1 on any drinks from 5-7 on Fridays, even more reason to drop in!
