University Pressure and Blogging

Final year stress is really playing havoc with my time management skills at the moment. I have never ever been the type to apologise for not having posted in a while, sometimes life gets in the way but deadline stress has turned my brain to mush (of what little remains).

I'd like to say I'm quite an organised person. I have an eternal fear of leaving things too late before the deadline, and once that stress instinct kicks in I'm all things go. It's impossible not to feel guilty when doing anything not related to my degree, and for that reason all things blogging have gone downhill.

I love using Instagram and I had so much fun documenting my year abroad and the places I was lucky enough to see. The algorithm change has made things a lot more frustrating and I also have a lot less time to post. I'm now lucky if I can get more than a few pictures up a week! I had so much more time in Spain to take pictures whilst out and about, but life in Southampton this year is much more mundane, and I have less time to go out into the city.

It's frustrating having spent time this past year building up a follower base, and I'm happy to see that I haven't lost too many considering how little I post right now. I can't deny that the blog pressure is real, it feels like every time I sit down to write I just having nothing interesting to say because I don't have much time to experience new things.

I've gotta remember that this is a hobby that I can enjoy once I've got more important things done and dusted! So please lovely readers bear with me, as final year slowly turns me into a zombie floating around the library. Pray for me at least.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Good luck with your final year, things like that are so tough and they feel awful when you're going through it, but the funny thing is a few years on you look back on periods like those and they don't seem so bad!
