5 Sunday Favourites

This week has felt super long. This is mainly due to dissertation stress, I've felt it mounting very gradually and only today have I felt it subside again. I've been homesick this week as well, I couldn't be more ready to be back home with my family, boyfriend and friends! Negatives aside, here's what I've been loving this week..

1. A Little Twist Of - The Loneliness of Not Fitting in
Over the course of year abroad, I've had moments where I've felt like I have no one. I've made a collection of lovely friends, most of which I manage to see pretty regularly during the week. But I've realised that I'm not a group person at all. In situations where there are lots of people that I don't know well, I have a tendency to shrink away and become a bit quiet. In the company of one or two friends, I couldn't be any more different.

It's taken a while for me to accept it, but I am happier and more comfortable with the company of people I know well. But it can mean that if I don't know many people in a group situation, I feel like I don't fit in or belong. It's a hard feeling to shake but Meg's post has reminded me that I'm not lonely in the slightest, I just don't like to command the attention of a room when it's filled with louder personalities.

2. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
This was my naughty student loan purchase. It's basically what-I-call perfection in a bottle. It blends seamlessly with the help of my stippling brush, it covers my imperfections such as redness and spots like a dream and it stays put all day! I'm so happy I invested in the end. It is pricey I'm not gonna pretend it was easy to part with over £30 in one go being a student and all, but I will say that it was worth every penny.

3. Banana Porridge
I'm in a good phase with banana, and I find it fills me up for a good few hours before lunchtime. I like to warm up the milk in the pan with the bananas for a few minutes and cinnamon, before adding in the porridge oats for extra yumminess!

4. Spotify's Feel Good Friday Playlist
This week I've been loving classic pop songs. The ones that you have singing to yourself and feeling at home again. I've felt a little homesick at times and it's a super comforting playlist for those days when you need a little pick me up.

5. Podcasts by Criminal
I would recommend this podcast to anyone who loves detective or police shows. The particular episode I listened to was an extremely fascinating case, which technically hasn't yet been solved. I won't reveal too much about the details of the murder, except for some key words; bodies, a fridge and a mystery getaway. It explains how they approached the case, and the background of the people involved. It made for very interesting listening!

  1. Love a good roundup post like this!

I studied in France for a semester, it was the best 4 months of my life (ngl I'm jealous you get to do it for a year) but I have to say the social scene can felt overwhelming at times. Plus there's always that pressure to do thing just because it's your semester abroad when in fact all you want to do is stay in and watch Disney films! It's always best to go with what your heart wants at the end of the day.

Followed you on Bloglovin so I can keep up with the rest of your semester abroad updates, can't wait!!

    1. Thank you very much! :) yeah I know that feeling. Doing erasmus means that people assume that you're constantly partying and not doing a lot else! I watch a lot more online tv here than I did at home I think it's very comforting! Thank you very much!
