Why You Should Take The Smallest Room At Uni

It's funny to think that I was dreading moving into the smallest bedroom of my all-girl household. Whilst most of the house hasn't remained the cleanest it could have been ( cough kitchen ), I fell in love with my room as soon as everything had been put in its place.

I've delighted in sleeping the comfiest and most heavenly bed in the whole world this year, the only problem is that it makes it so hard to get up in the morning for a 10am ( student probz ). The duvet almost feels like a blanket of fluffy clouds, with pillows that are always just plumped enough but not too much. I love all the personal touches added to my room, such as the flashes of blue in my product storage, which fit well with the blue stripes on my duvet.

I'm going to miss my walk-in wardrobe ridiculous amounts. To say I felt emotionally attached to it is an understatement. It made me feel like a poorer Carrie Bradshaw, with all my clothes beautifully arranged in clothing type, and my jeans, trousers and skirts all sitting happily in their designated draws. It also had its own light, amazing!

My favourite moment in my room was waking up in the morning, with the sunlight streaming through my window and instantly brightening everywhere. It gave the room such a cosy feeling, especially on lie-in days! If anyone asks you to take the smallest room in a uni house, I insist you TAKE IT - think about heating, my room heated up twice as quickly as the other rooms in the winter when you really need it, I had no mould at all compared to the others because it was so ventilated, I promise you won't regret it!

Thanks for reading! Have you taken the smallest room in your house?

  1. Totally agree with this. I had the smallest room, and whilst it did have its problems it lasted me well. We all paid the same for our rooms, but having the smallest room can also get you a discount on rent if you choose to do it that way - so it can work out saving you money too!
