I'm happy (as well as my bank account) to say that I didn't buy too much new makeup this year, rather I bought a few pricier things which I use more or less every day. Here's a little round up of my favourite bits!

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue
Technically I tried this foundation favourite last year but after my evening at the bareMinerals boutique in Windsor I was matched with one of their newer shades, Birch 1.5, and found it actually suited my skintone slightly more than Vanilla. I actually bought this one in Buttercream and the shade suits my skintone exactly, meaning that I don't look like I'm wearing foundation! I love applying this with a beauty blender for a smooth finish, and it lasts all day, If you're a big fan of light coverage foundation I would highly recommend.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I mentioned this pricey purchase back in May and I'm still working through the same bottle! I try to only use this for special occasions such as nights out because of the price but you only need a small amount of cover the whole face, so its been well worth the money. It has great staying power and is the perfect light-weight full coverage base.

MUA Brow Define Tinted Brow Mascara
I don't pay too much attention to my brows, I find it all quite a bit of effort! I have a well-defined natural shape to them so I try not to mess about with them, so I simply pluck where needed and use a brow mascara to tint them slightly and keep them in place. This one is slightly darker than my natural hair colour so doesn't exaggerate my brows too much and stays on all day, what more could you ask for?

bareMinerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion Serum
This was kindly given to me in a goodie bag after the bareMinerals event, and I've used this serum every two or three days after cleansing before bed. It's quite lightweight, as I don't like weighing down my skin too much at night. Every morning after using this my skin looks much more even and feels super smooth! This sample is tiny and I'm nowhere near its end so a full size would be a worthy investment for someone who wants value for money.

Make Up For Ever Redness Correcting Primer
I mentioned this in my recent current beauty round-up so it's no surprise that I'm talking about this here. This is hands-down the best primer I've ever used, because it is the only one I've found that actually colour corrects redness without leaving a weird green tinge, and also lasts all day. I'm absolutely dreading buying it again because it's expensive, but again I'm not quite at the end of it and I bought it in July. A little goes a very long way.

bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil
This is the most recent purchase of the lot but this powder has simply blown me away. It is so finely milled it blends onto the skin seamlessly, and finishes off my bases perfectly without caking. The effect lasts all day no matter how much I'm rushing about, and doesn't need any touching up. You don't need that much to cover the face, and I'm super impressed.

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter
You've probably been living under a rock if you haven't heard anyone wax lyrical about this highlighter so I won't bore you too much with the details. What everyone says is true - It's like adding a gorgeous sheeny glitterball to your face and it's just heavenly, without adding actual glitter (an absolute no with highlighters in my opinion). It lasts absolutely forever and you need so little to create a pretty champagne sheen on the cheekbones so basically you need it.

Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner
Not entirely sure if I ever mentioned this eyeliner on the blog but its such a fabulous bargain. I don't wear eyeliner as much as I used to, but when I do, I expect it stay on all night without fading or smudging, and this eyeliner does exactly what it says on the tin, isn't too fiddly to use and is super cheap at £2.99! I've used it countless times for big nights out and I've come home with it looking as fresh as it did at the beginning of the night.
