Makeup Revolution, Laura Geller, beauty review

Laura Geller Balance 'N' Brighten Foundation

I received so many lovely presents for Christmas this year, and I've loved testing out all my shiny new pieces. Since then, I've been gradually incorporating these face products into my everyday routine, and I'm thoroughly impressed.

Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer
I was so excited to try this out, given that I'm a bonafide primer addict. I loved the idea that it was tinted, due to the slight redness in my cheeks, and who doesn't like champagne?! It's slightly liquidy, and I must admit I was a little sceptical when I saw elements of glitter in the formula. No one likes the overdone glittery disco ball look, so I applied quite sparingly, using a pea sized amount for each section for my face. I was extremely pleased to see that once applied and left for a few minutes, the pieces of glitter are undetectable! My face looked visibly brighter, my complexion more balanced in pigment and my skin felt much smoother. With foundation applied afterwards, I had that much-desired glow from within, so for an everyday face I don't need to apply highlighter! And finally, the bottle is huge, it will last me forever so I won't need to repurchase for a long time!

Makeup Revolution Duo Face Sculpt
I'd never tried anything from Makeup Revolution before, but my first impressions of the brand have been extremely positive. This came in a set, along with the two brushes pictured, as well as one other and a gorgeous highlighter! This is the first sculpting powder I've used, and at first I was a little confused over the point of the lighter shade. A matte highlighter? Finishing powder? Who knows. The darker shade however has proved itself a wonderful introduction to the world of bronzers, as I've previously been way too scared of looking like a brick. While in the pan it looks very, very dark, on skin it looks considerably less scary. It blends very well and looks incredibly natural on my skin. I also couldn't believe it retails at £4.00 sold alone!

Laura Geller Baked Brighten 'N' Balance Foundation in Fair
This is by far my favourite pick out of everything featured. In the case it just looks BEAUTIFUL, all swirly and marbled! I've been using this as a finishing powder, instead of a normal loose powder, for a less matte and slightly dewier complexion. It buffs seamlessly, and helps to balance out remaining redness in the cheeks and minimise any shine on my forehead. I use the powder brush F104 pictured above, which is unbelievably soft to finish off my face. Individually it's quite expensive for a foundation, retailing at about £28. However, I've already used it a fair amount of times and it still appears untouched so it will last forever!

Makeup Revolution Powder and Contour Brushes (F104 and F105)
It's fair to say that I've been blown away by the sheer quality of these brushes. I wasn't expecting it at all, but wow! They're beautifully soft, incredibly easy to wash, and apply blush and powder seamlessly. Not much more I need to say being honest! Apart from the fact they're cheap and also in their online sale!

  1. I absolutely love Makeup Revolution products, I own so many now, but that scuplting duo looks fab! I may just have to add it to my wishlist as £4 is an absolute bargain. I haven't tried anything from Laura Geller, but that foundation looks absolutely beautiful in the pan! x
