This weekend, something spooky was going down in Basingstoke at Festival Place shopping centre. Porchester Square was decked out with terrifying decoration to celebrate Halloween, for both the kids and adults. In aid of the Ark Cancer Centre Charity, a variety of activities were on offer for everyone to get involved with!

Lizzie Crow from Breeze FM's breakfast show was host to the event and got stuck in, even partaking in a spot of musical bumps with some children! The lovely ladies from Shear Beauty were on hand to give fabulous manicures and face painting, leaving lots of happy, smiley faces. They also offered a custom photo booth for the kids and even bigger kids dressed up in their spookiest costumes (Have a look at the #spookyfp hashtag for some adorable family pictures in their outfits!). As well as this, lots of prizes were up for grabs from fantastic brands at the shopping centre, such as Build A Bear, Lush, Slaters and Pret A Manger.

Festival Place is a great supporter of local brands and charity, as Shear Beauty is a salon based in Basingstoke, and its receiving charity aims to build a cancer treatment centre in the city for local patients. They put on some brilliant events to keep the whole family entertained, whilst the shopping centre has a huge variety of shopping and restaurants to keep everyone happy.

The organisers experienced a great response from the public, as seen on Twitter and Instagram, with lots of happy young faces! Did you manage to go? What did you think of the event?
